Rise for equity across San Joaquin Valley: Join us for Equity on the Road 2024

California COVID-19 Community Health and Workplace Outreach Project

The Center at Sierra Health Foundation partnered with the California Department of Social Services, the California Department of Public Health and the Labor and Workforce Development Agency to provide funding for community-based organizations throughout California to support outreach to mitigate the health consequences of COVID-19 on disproportionately impacted populations and communities.

Community-based organizations have been providing critical services and information to Californians during the pandemic and are key partners in continuing to provide education and outreach across the state.

California COVID-19 Community Health Project partner organizations are conducting culturally relevant education and outreach activities, and disseminating COVID-19 information to communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. The Center partnered with the California Department of Social Services in phase 1 and is partnering with the California Department of Public Health in phase 2.

California COVID-19 Workplace Outreach Project partner organizations are conducting outreach activities to educate workers and employers in high-risk industries, such as the food and agriculture sectors, on how to minimize the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace, and educating essential workers about COVID-19-related labor laws. The Center is partnering with the Labor and Workforce Development Agency in phases 1 and 2.
